Friday (Fancy dress, Grifter)

This year the parade started its journey in the school grounds with glorious sunshine, after parading round part of the village the judging took place in the marquee.  As with previous years the amount of effort put in to the eighty three costumes was outstanding.   Categories were judged in either Single, Groups or Ages.

 (Grifter)

Another success by local band "Grifter" brought in a record number of Friday night punters, in excess of 650 people attended.  “Socializing,” continued until 1.30am, the band were supported by a disco.

Saturday (Gala day, Dance at night)

Saturdays full program of events were officially opened by Andre Whyte at 1.50pm.

On site were various stalls such as hamburgers, hot dogs and kippers. Attractions included a various bouncy castles, Karate display and Fraserburgh Archery Club. A beer tent serving cool drinks was erected alongside the main Marquee with seating.

Inside the marquee was a selection of historical photos relating to local events combined with more recent ones.  Arts & Crafts for sale, the ubiquitous Baby Show, were to be found here with light refreshments available to all.

Five-aside football was found adjacent to the marquee; this was aimed at the more mature of the game.

(Marquee dance)

"Lily and the boys" played to around 700 people at the Saturday night dance, now a legendary part of Belger heritage.

Sunday (Gala praise)

Gala praise was a resounding success again as it has always been with just under two hundred people attending.  Guest speaker was Mr. Ken Cowe.
