There will be a change when more people come on to the
committee and offer their services.

Is all the profit handed out at the end of the gala?
No, not all of it as some money (enough to cover next
years’ expenses) needs to be kept back in case of falling income
What is the date of next years
Gala?
This cannot be decided until the Gala Committee have
agreed on suitable times for getting the Marquee and this can only be done once
the Marquee becomes available.
Does it look as though the Gala will continue indefinitely?
At present it looks as though the Gala will continue for a while yet, unless it becomes financially impractical, or there are no more volunteers coming forward.
Are there any interesting facts relating to the gala week?
The size of marquee is 40 feet x 180 feet (12m x 54m) and has seating for 550, there are at present 22 committee members. There were 600 pies sold on the 2007 Gala week along with 1350 hamburgers and 650 hot dogs. The liquid intake of Gala goers for the 2009 week stands at 3408 Cans of cola , 1092 bottles of lemonade, 432 bottles of rose wine, 1308 cans of Tennants lager, 1080 cans of Magners cider, 2256 bottles of alcopops and over 11,120 nips of spirits. Finally the amount of sweat lost in the week amounted to heaps
When does it get decided to release the money to applicants?
The release of profits is normally decided at the
committee meeting (also open to the public) on or around November and only once
the expenses have been met.
