The below itinerary is from the 2007 Gala, it is expected the 2008 Gala will have the same format

Saturday 14th July

Open Golf TournamentOur fantastically attended golf open attracts entries very quickly, so hurry and get your name down.  Gents, Ladies & Juniors - 7.00am first tee-off (last one 3.00pm).  Entries & further details to / from the Club House on 582000.  Entry fee £8.00 for members and £12.00 for non-members + DISCO TO FOLLOW after prize giving

 

 

Monday 6th August

Children’s Treasure TrailOur hugely successful start to the week where the village is buzzin with over 100 kids (& parents!!).  Start from the Marquee at 6.00pm & return to same by 7.30pm, £1.00 PER PERSON entry fee (which includes free juice & crisps).  Prizes for the winners.  USE OF CARS IS PROHIBITED IN ORDER TO MAKE IT FAIR FOR ALL

 

 

Tuesday 7th August

Hurdy & Pram RaceThis year we’re including prams (coz nae abody kin fin ony mare sets o’ Silver Cross wheels in their garages) to allow more people to join in with the fun.  Start at 6:00pm (ish) at Corn Road / Allochy Road junction.

Junior ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ ShowAn event which will see Simon Cowell & his team coming up to the village shortly if the talent gets any better - don’t miss it!!  In Marquee, only

following on after Hurdy & Pram Race at 7.00pm (ish).

Horse Racing NightChannel 4 doesn’t have a-look-in with our resident ‘John McCririck’ AKA Georgie Ritchie as compare.  In Marquee, following on after Jnr ‘Stars in Their Eyes’ Show at approx. 8.00pm (incl. licensed bar) with hamburgers & refreshments etc. on site.

 

 

Wednesday 8th August

Junior BingoConcentration!! If only the homework was paid this much attention to.  The kids love it.  In Marquee at 2:00pm

Quiz Night & ‘Talent-less’ ShowSome say the highlight of our week, the quiz is always a bag of laughs and crammed to the gunnels, so get in early!!!  The ‘talent-less’ show makes everyone go home smiling and sore with laughter.  Remember, quiz goers have priority with seating, ‘talent-less’ show  spectators must remain at the back until after the quiz.  In Marquee, STARTING at 7.00pm (incl. licensed bar) £10.00 PER TEAM OF ‘4(£2 per extra person) UPTO A MAX OF ‘6’ with hamburgers & refreshments etc. on site.  (Talent-less show follows at approx. 9:30pm).

Thursday 9th August

Junior Discothe kids love it and this year our DJ has many games and stuff planned for the budding Aguileras’ and Timberlakes’.  In Marquee from 4.00 to 6.00pm, £1.50 ENTRY fee

Prize Bingoyou can hear a pin drop from a 1000 paces at the bingo, so much to play for with big prizes!!  in Marquee at 8:00pm (incl. licensed bar), with hamburgers & refreshments etc. on site.  Karaoke / Disco to follow.

   

 

Friday 10th August

Fancy Dress Paradenew categories being introduced this year and hopefully making it attractable to more people of all ages.  Don’t be shy, get the loft (or Dad’s wardrobe!!) raided and get cracking.  EVERY ENTRY RECIEVES £1, Open to all ages & starts from school grounds at 6.00pm then parade around ‘part’ of villages, led by flute band (finish up at Marquee).  Will be held in Marquee if weather inclement. 

Live Band (Disco in-between ) – from 9.00pm till 1.00am (incl. licensed bar) starring our

Local Live Band ‘GRIFTER’, with hamburgers & refreshments etc. on site. TICKETS £7.00ea (incl. licensed bar).  Admission is by TICKET ONLY this year .  DOOR STEWARDS WILL BE MANNING THE ENTRANCES & ID WILL BE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN AN ≥18yrs WRISTBAND. 

Free bus transport back to St Combs and Fraserburgh leaving 1.30am sharp.

 

 

Saturday 11th August (from 1.00pm at Playing Fields)

Gala will be opened at 1.50pm by - Mr Andrew Whyte

Attractions include – Giant ROCK CLIMBING WALL activity, GIANT Inflatable Assault Course, TWO Bouncy Castles, Bungee Run + other inflatable's, Fire Engine appliance on show, ‘Egyptian Belly Dance Troupe, 2wit2woo Owl & Raptor Rescue Display, Highland Dancing, Fraserburgh Archery Club, Karate display, Ladies & Gents Tug-O-War, Arts & Crafts, Baby Show and open 5-a-side football,

Many stalls including – Target Golf, Whisky Wheel, Sponge Stocks, Lucky Dips, Plate Smashing & various others.

Food Galore  – Candy floss, Kippers, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Teas, Crisps, Juice, Ice Cream (& strawberries), Sweeties & of course the refreshing ‘Beer Tent’

Marquee Extravaganza - dance the whole night away with live music starring ‘LILY & THE BOYS’ kicking off from 8.30pm till late.  TICKETS £11.00ea (incl. licensed bar).  Admission is by TICKET ONLY & please note STRICTLY FOR OVER 18’s ONLY

DOOR STEWARDS WILL BE MANNING THE ENTRANCES & ID WILL BE REQUIRED.  Free bus transport back to St Combs and Fraserburgh leaving 1.30am sharp.

 

 

Sunday 12th August

Invercairn Gala PraiseA great way to finish the week with our favourite host Ken Cowe(of Waves Radio).  In Marquee from 3.00pm.  everyone welcome.  IF YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE HYMN YOU WOULD LIKE SUNG; DROP A NOTE OF IT INTO THE LIBRARY WHERE THE MOST REQUESTED ONES WILL BE PLAYED ON THE DAY.

*** TICKETS WILL BE GOING ON SALE FROM MONDAY 9th JULY ***

Donations for Raffle, Bottle Stall & Home Bakes - to any Committee member

Gala Prize Draw Raffle1st £500, 2nd £300, 3rd £200 & 4th £100 (tickets are on sale now and are available through any committee member and will be drawn on the Saturday night)

 

** Please note - our marquee dance ticket prices have increased for the first time in many years in order to compensate for our ever increasing expenditure.  This has allowed us once again, not to increase ANY of our bar prices!!

* NB *           due to an unacceptable amount of under age personnel accessing alcohol on the Friday & Saturday night dances, there will be a STRICT security policy set up at the entrances.

 

** REGISTERED DOOR STEWARDS WILL BE CONTROLLING THE DOORS THIS YEAR AND ID CHECKS WILL BE REQUESTED TO PROVE OVER 18yrs TO OBTAIN APPROPRIATE WRISTBAND.

SATURDAY’S MARQUEE DANCE THIS YEAR IS STRICTLY FOR OVER 18’s 

(you have been warned!)

 

** Both marquee nights are ticket only events!!

 

The following guidelines should be noted for all personnel attending the marquee functions.

 

All personnel who potentially look under age will be asked to provide ID to obtain an over 18yrs wristband

If no ID can be provided you will receive an under 18yrs coloured wristband

Anyone over 18yrs may also be asked to prove ID and failure to do so means they too may be assigned an under 18yrs wristband

Anyone under 18yrs found carrying alcohol within the premises will be evicted

Anyone found attempting to carry alcohol into the premises will be refused entry
