Afternoon bingo for the youngsters proved
to be a massive
success yet again, over one hundred and sixty books were sold and priced at a reasonable £1 per
book, prizes were given
for a line then a full house, (lines and full houses had the prize of gifts).
(Quiz
and talent show)
Ninety five teams entered the quiz, another
record for
the
Gala. The quizmaster was Gala Chairman George Ritchie.
After the questions ended the talent less show began with five acts
taking to the stage at around 9.30pm.
Acts such as "Renee & Renata" and "Billy Joel" proved to
be a big hit with the audience.
There were around 700 people in attendance; this included around one hundred
and fifty children. There
were no winners or losers as it was decided to make it a fun evening with all acts
deemed winners.
Thursday evening (kids disco)
Again a great success as in previous
years, the
kids disco kept
the budding dancers happy for a couple of hours.
Between eighty to ninety kids joined in the fun.

Full house all round or should it be full marquee, with all seats taken
for this event, with extra tables and chairs having
to be called for.
Seven pounds for a book of eight games, six chances per game.
Prizes were good at £40 a line and £80 for a full house, the last game paid out
£80 a line and £160 for the full house.
